Microfiction #6 – Quiet Night Sky

“You must be joking!” he said with an astonished face.

“The signals were really coming from the other end of the galaxy,” she said.

“They must be at least hundred thousands years old,” he said, “I just don’t believe it!”

“I transmitted messages in response anyway – I wonder who’d receive them, in the next lifetime,” she said as she gazed into the quiet night sky.
